Your home away from home

Make the Shelburne Inn your home away from home this holiday season.

The Shelburne Inn has been a Pacific Northwest holiday destination since opening its doors in the 1890s, drawing travelers from across the region to Washington’s quiet coast. That hasn’t changed over the past 120 years – the Shelburne Inn remains a bastion of rest and relaxation amid the modern world’s hustle and bustle.

Our Thanksgiving Day menu.

With so many holiday happenings we almost don’t know where to begin. Let’s start with Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is among our absolute favorite times of the year. Our Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 23 features traditional trappings like oven-roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie, but also highlights numerous delicious regional treats. David’s Wild Mushroom Soup celebrates our locally foraged fungi that’s renowned throughout the Pacific Northwest, and the Salmon with Huckleberry Glaze showcases our fresh, local fish. Reserve your place at the table today by calling (360) 642-4150.

Anyone who purchases our Thanksgiving dinner is eligible to receive 15% off that evening’s stay.

Christmas at the Shelburne Inn is a truly magical time of year. It’s so magical that we like to get started a little early. For many years now, we’ve participated in the Holiday Bed & Breakfast Open House and food drive on the Long Beach Peninsula along with a number of other lovely properties. We’re looking forward to this year’s Holiday Bed & Breakfast Open House on Dec. 9 & 10, when you can tour the Shelburne, enjoy sweet treats and sip something sparkling and fun. The open house is from 1-4pm. It’s free to participate, but we do ask for one donation of a non-perishable food item that will be given to a local food bank. Another local holiday highlight is the Tuba Christmas Concert on Dec. 9 at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum.

A couple weeks later is the big day – Christmas. A Shelburne Christmas is as traditional as they come. Picture a roaring fireplace with friends basking in the orange glow. Picture hot toddies on cool coastal evenings. Picture intertwined fingers beneath a warm, unfurled blanket. Now picture yourself in the midst of it all. Relax with us this Christmas and enjoy all the treats that make this time of year so very special.

Shelburne Specials

Speaking of special, we’re running a couple specials that’ll leave a little coin in your pockets for gifts and presents. Our Cozy-Up Special, good through Dec. 28 except on holidays and holiday weekends, makes the third night free when you book a three-night stay. The special includes our gourmet breakfast each morning.

Or take advantage of our Midweek Special – stay any night Sunday through Thursday and receive 25% off our rack rate. The Midweek Special also includes our gourmet breakfast each morning. Call us to book midweek and save.

And there’s our Clam Digging Special on Dec. 2-4, the next proposed razor clam digs on the Long Beach Peninsula. Stay any two nights during those days and receive 50% off the second night. Shellfish licenses can be purchased at area stores, and the local Long Beach Peninsula Visitors Bureau loans clam guns for free. We have an area just outside the inn where you can clean your freshly dug clams or we can point you toward local businesses that will do the dirty work for you.

Other holiday fun on the peninsula includes the Lighting of the Crab Pot Christmas Tree on Dec. 2 in Ilwaco ,and New Year’s Eve Fireworks on the Beach on Dec. 31 in Long Beach.
